While there are many different models of HP laptop, for the most part, there are about three different types of HP Laptop Charger that the vast majority of these laptops will utilize. The first is the lowest powered adapter with a thick ‘barrel’ type tip with a small pin inside. This Laptop Power Supply is also the smallest of the three.
Next up in power is the 90W version of the ‘barrel’ tip adapter. This is larger in physical size and is capable of delivering a larger output to the laptop in cases where the laptop will have a more demanding processor or larger battery. Found commonly as an HP G70 Laptop Charger amongst others, this is the option for a thirstier laptop.
For HP Pavilion Adapters you might come across the 18.5V 4.9A adapter with a small, thin tip. This is very different to the barrel style and has a small ridge which makes a firm connection and keeps the charger in place.
